At a reception on Friday evening, Corinne Shindelar (pictured), CEO of the Independent Natural Food Retailers Association, shares with retailers the concept for the 10-10-10 Non-GMO Day that will happen on Oct. 10, 2010. A collaboration between Jimbo’s … Naturally! retail stores, INFRA, UNFI and the Non-GMO Project, the 10-10-10 Non-GMO Day will be part education, part promotion. Participating retailers will teach their customers about genetically modified organisms and feature non-GMO products on the designated day and for the entire month of October. Some stores will donate a percentage of sales or a dollar amount to the Non-GMO Project. Want to join the cause? To find out more about the 10-10-10 Non-GMO day, to sign up for the event and to grab a "Make a Difference" button, visit The Non-GMO Project at UNFI’s booth (#2336).
