Jon Fiume
As part of its overall strategy for growth, Mustard Seed Market and Café announces Jon Fiume as the new chief operating officer beginning Jan. 6, 2014. Jon was previously the vice president of retail operations and natural products for Ritzman Pharmacies and currently serves on the board of the Natural Products Association.
Jon’s appointment is an addition to an already strong team of individuals prepared to lead the company forward.
Owner Phillip Nabors states “for over the past two years, my children, Abraham, Gabriel, Marcella Kanfer Rolnick, and I began a strategic planning process aimed at taking the company forward into the future with location growth while continuing to uphold the quality standards of which we embrace. One of the exciting results from this strategic planning process was the vision that we painted of the future Mustard Seed Market & Café. We have a goal to be the premier health food grocery store and café regionally with many locations throughout Northeast Ohio. We were also very realistic of what it would take to achieve such an ambitious goal and identified the need to add additional horsepower to our company leadership.”
In the COO capacity, Jon will lead the implementation of the strategic plan and manage the day-to-day business operations.
Mustard Seed Market and Café was founded in 1981 by Margaret and Phillip Nabors. Then and now, the Mustard Seed Market and Café maintains strict standards in the products offered such as no artificial colors, flavorings, harmful chemical preservatives, artificial sweeteners, bleached or bromated flours, high fructose corn syrup, partially hydrogenated oils or growth hormones. In addition, it offers foods free from irradiation and cruelty-free cosmetics.
Earlier this year, the Mustard Seed Market and Café announced the construction of its third location in the Highland Square area of Akron expected to open in the fall of 2014. Existing locations include Montrose and Solon.
