Novel Foods and Food Additives Regulations in Europe: Scientific Update for 2010Novel Foods and Food Additives Regulations in Europe: Scientific Update for 2010
August 30, 2009
In 2008, Cantox responded to the needs of many of their clients and provided a “hands-on” scientific seminar on how to deal with health claims submissions. Following on from this highly successful scientific seminar on health claims, we now present a scientific seminar focusing on the latest developments in novel foods and food additives regulations in the EU.
Over the past year, key changes to the regulations of food ingredients and additives in the EU include:
A commitment to revise the novel foods regulation, to take into account the emerging technologies such as nanotechnology
The adoption of new legislation on food improvement agents including harmonised regulation and assessment of food enzymes
Cantox’s workshop will guide you through recent and pending changes in the assessment of food ingredients and additives in the EU, increasing your knowledge of the “what” and the “how” of regulatory applications to meet the challenges of 2010. Highlights of the workshop will include an update of the novel foods legislation, insight into the opportunities and challenges of nanotechnology and expert advice on the preparation of food enzyme submission.
In addition to Cantox experts, the workshop will also include a keynote update on the new proposed novel food regulation by Jean-François Roche from the Food Law, Nutrition and Labelling unit of DG Sanco (European Commission).
