Metabolic Technologies Inc. (MTI) announced that its manufacturing facility in Jiangsu, China, is now Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) registered by NSF International.
"NSF International is a highly reputable organization, and we're pleased that this unbiased, independent review has provided formal, public affirmation of our outstanding commitment to high quality manufacturing practices," said Shawn Baier, chief operating officer of MTI.
Earning GMP registration from NSF International verifies that MTI’s facility has the proper methods, equipment, facilities, and controls in place for producing dietary supplement products. The NSF GMPs were developed in accordance with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) 21 CFR part 111 regulations on dietary supplement manufacturing, packaging, and distribution. Utilizing GMP guidelines assists companies in developing and maintaining proper controls in their manufacturing process so that products are processed, manufactured and labeled in a consistent manner, and meet quality standards.
The facility in Jiangsu, China, Jiangyin TSI Pharmaceuticals Co. Ltd., manufactures MTI's proprietary ingredients HMB (CaHMB) and BetaTOR™ (HMB free acid). HMB, which stands for ß-hydroxy ß-methylbutyrate, is a naturally occurring substance in the human body that, when supplemented, has been clinically demonstrated to improve the effects of weight training, enhance indicators of endurance and assist in recovery. The legacy format of HMB CaHMB is based on a calcium salt delivery mechanism. The newer free acid format offers enhanced absorption and utilization. Both formats have been clinically demonstrated as safe and effective.
