Many parents now know that conventional toothpaste ingredients like fluoride, artificial sweeteners and parabens may harm their kids’ health—and they’ve begun seeking cleaner options. Sales of natural children’s toothpaste grew 10.2 percent between October 2009 and October 2010, according to Schaumburg, Ill.-based market research firm SPINS. But kids’ oral care doesn’t end with toothpaste: There’s a range of new products aimed at encouraging good oral-hygiene routines at a young age.
