Natural and organic is the fastest growing category in pet food, and it’s easy to see why: We want our pets eating as well as we do. In the pet food industry they call this “humanization.”

But I wondered if the process can’t go the other way. If it’s “human grade” with an unquestionable supply chain and first-quality ingredients, maybe it’s healthier than a lot of what we eat.

I wanted to know if the people promoting pet products at Expo West would take a taste test of their offerings. A few wouldn’t. These are the ones who did.
