NFM and Santa Barbara, Calif.–based charity Vitamin Angels invite you to help improve the lives of children around the globe by being a part of Reaching the Unreachable Day on June 18. Retailers that sign up commit to donating 5 percent of their profits on that day. All money raised will go directly toward reaching children around the globe with lifesaving micronutrients. Every year, 190 million children suffer from vitamin A deficiency. One high-dose capsule can provide sufficient vitamin A for six months, which helps reduce the risk of mortality for children age 5 and under by 23 percent. The stores that raise the most money (per square foot) will be recognized at Natural Products Expo East in October and in a later issue of NFM. For more information and to sign up, go to vitaminangels.org.
