Liz has been helping to build great brands for more than 20 years as a marketer, CEO and investor. Named by Forbes magazine as a Kingmaker in Consumer and Retail industries, by Fortune magazine as one of the Most Influential Women in Food and Drink, and by New Hope Network as one of 9 Wonder Women In the Natural Food Industry, Liz has become a go-to person in the natural products industry by helping numerous companies innovate and grow. Liz received her BS from the University of Colorado at Boulder and her MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. She lives in Denver, Colorado.
Trish Thomas is the CEO of TEEM, a marketing and advertising agency in Boulder, Colorado, built on an independent talent model. Trish has a diverse corporate background and holds a BS in computer information systems as well as a MBA in management and strategy. Prior to taking the helm at TEEM, Trish spent 13 years consulting with fast-track growth companies. Over the years, she has advised organizations ranging from startups to Fortune 100 companies with a track record of boosting performance and profitability rapidly. At TEEM, she and her team are challenging the status quo in advertising and reimagining the way teams work together to deliver great creative. She is a frequent speaker on leadership, new workforce dynamics, strategy, branding and marketing. Trish serves on the board of the Leeds School of Business at CU Boulder, mentors for the Blackstone Entrepreneurs Network and is Past Chair of the Denver/Boulder Better Business Bureau.
Jay Chopra is chief operating officer of Hi-Health Corp., a multi-channel health and nutrition specialty brands company. For more than 45 years, Hi-Health has grown into a regional brick-and-mortar retail chain, e-commerce retailer, direct marketing company and wholesaler of proprietary Hi-Health Brand supplements. Jay has held several positions during his 27 years in the natural food industry. He started his career as category and inventory manager and advanced to become general merchandise manager, VP of merchandising and purchasing and finally became COO. During the span of his career he was also the division president of PR Bar. With an MBA in marketing, Jay’s deep experience lies in product development and marketing. He has helped create and launch more than 300 products in various categories ranging from VMS, sports nutrition, natural body care, healthy snacks, weight management and more.
Constance Roark is a registered dietitian nutritionist and the president and founder of CMR Solutions. She has spent the majority of her career as a marketing professional, working for companies in industries ranging from high-tech B2B, natural food CPGs and food commodity boards to Fortune 500 companies and small entrepreneurial brands. Constance has held leadership roles on both the client as well as the agency sides of the business. In 2010 she turned her passion for health and wellness into her profession and became a registered dietitian nutritionist. Constance contributes the monthly nutrition column for the Daily Camera; she has served on the board of directors for the Colorado Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics as the public relations and marketing co-chair; She is a speaker for the Vegetarian Nutrition Speakers Bureau; and is part of Sterling-Rice Group’s Culinary Council. Constance obtained an MBA from the University of Colorado at Boulder, Leeds School of Business, and a Master of Science in food science and human nutrition from Colorado State University. Winners of the coveted New Hope NEXTY Awards represent the future—they are the innovative, inspirational and integrity-filled products that help shape the outlook of the natural products industry. All exhibitors who will be at Natural Products Expo East 2017 in Baltimore were eligible to nominate their products for the NEXTY Awards over the last month, and more than 400 nominations across 21 categories were received. The nomination period closed on July 31.
The winners of the NEXTY Awards for Expo East will be decided in a closed judging session on Tuesday, Aug. 15 at the New Hope Network office in Boulder. Winners will be awarded on the show floor in Baltimore on Friday, Sept. 15.
Meet this year's group of outstanding industry influencers who will serve as the judges (along with the New Hope content team and SRG culinary team) for the Natural Products Expo East 2017 NEXTY Awards.
