Attendees of Natural Products Expo East’s 2018 Hemp Summit learned that the crop was responsible for a whopping $820 million in consumer packaged goods sales in 2017 alone. Of those sales, roughly one-quarter represented CBD oil and a full 22 percent was taken up by personal care products. The bottom line? Cannabis isn’t just for fringe shoppers–or brands–anymore, and bigger players are looking to capitalize on its expanding appeal with cannabis-infused products.
