With more than 9,000 industry professionals in attendance at the ExCeL London-hosted Natural & Organic Products Europe trade show, 600 vendors pulled out all the stops to impress with natural, organic, vegan, fair trade, free-from, vegetarian and eco-living brands, as well as live cooking demonstrations and seminars. Here are some of the New Products Showcase highlights and category winners.
Pulsin's Mint Choc Chip Protein Snack is raw and rice protein-enriched so that it can provide sustained energy release and bypass the crash that usually follows. Flavored with real peppermint oil and chocolate chips, this vegan-friendly snack bar also makes use of cashews to give it that additional crunch and protein boost. Winner: Best New Food Product
inSpiral is all about the good things in life, and its Kale Chips certainly got some good attention in the UK at ExCel London this year. The company describes its products as "trojan horses of consciousness" leading a wholesale path to 100 percent natural, optimally nutritious foods and snack items. inSpiral doesn't just supply the community with good food either; it is reputed for opening the doors of its Camden Town location and throwing conscious dance events and social gatherings. Winner: Best New Organic Food Product
Distributed by Marigold Health Foods, this vegan coconut milk yoghurt (yes, that is the U.K. spelling!) is 100 percent natural, 100 percent dairy free and 100 percent gluten free. BodyMe donates 20 pence out of every pound of revenue from product sales to Healthy Planet, a charity that supports conservation efforts around the world. Winner: Best New Drink Product
