“United for Change: The Impact of DSHEA and the Future of the Natural Products Industry,” a webinar on the impact of the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act, will feature a panel of natural products industry leaders discussing the legislation’s history and its current relevance.

SENPA will also celebrate the 30th anniversary of DSHEA.

The free webinar is scheduled for 2 p.m. EDT Tuesday, Aug. 20, and will take place via Zoom. The event is designed to educate a new generation of natural products retailers and manufacturers on the origins and legacy of DSHEA, sharing insights from those who played pivotal roles in its development and implementation.

The webinar also seeks to rekindle the collaborative spirit that characterized the industry's response to legislative challenges and explore ways to unite for future advancements.

The panelists scheduled to participate are Cheryl Hughes, owner of Whole Wheatery, Lancaster, California; Roy Upton, president of American Herbal Pharmacopoeia;  Debra Short, executive director of SENPA; Bruce Cohen, owner of Nutrition World, Palm Beach, Florida; and Peter Brodhead, owner of Brighter Day Natural Foods, Savannah, Georgia. They will discuss the industry's response to regulatory challenges at the time, share personal anecdotes and experiences and take live questions from emerging leaders and future industry challenges.

A Q&A session will feature these emerging leaders in the dietary supplements industry:

  • Cady Kuhlman, co-owner of Nutrition World, Chattanooga, Tennessee.

  • Amanda Ballard, chief operating officer, Natural Products Marketer.

  • Brian Mosser, general manager, Get Healthy.

  • Ryan Sensenbrenner, head of marketing, Enzymedica.
