The ability to respond to ever-evolving consumer attitudes, regulatory mandates, and scientific discoveries requires that manufacturers keep their finger on the pulse of the analytical methodologies required to monitor product safety and quality. In light of the ever-growing number of food and supplement ingredients and complex formulations, the ability to detect unique compounds and quantify levels of ingredients at trace levels presents challenges to researchers. The increased efficiency and accuracy of today's techniques are greatly facilitated by the efforts of researchers whose skills lay in expanding and optimizing the applications of the instrumentation employed in the laboratory.
