Blumenthal receives NPA Industry Champion Award

American Botanical Council (ABC) Founder and Executive Director Mark Blumenthal is one of two people who have been named to receive the Natural Products Association’s 2013 Industry Champion Award. The award recognizes individuals who have made notable contributions to the natural products industry above and beyond commercial success.

The announcement was made by NPA in a news release in which eight additional NPA award recipients also were announced. The 20th Annual Natural Products Association Awards will be presented at the annual Natural Products Expo East from Sept. 26 to 28 in Baltimore.

“I am deeply honored and grateful to have the opportunity to accept this award in recognition of the numerous achievements of the American Botanical Council,” said Blumenthal. “I thank the Natural Products Association for recognizing the work of ABC over the past 25 years. It is through the dedicated network of ABC staff and board members that ABC has been an agent of significant positive change in the herbal community and the American culture in general by increasing the amount of reliable, science-based information to enhance people’s awareness of the health benefits of plants and other natural products.”
