Retail tips on maintaining a healthy work-life balance

Running a natural foods store can be extremely rewarding but challenging at the same time.  As we council our customers on the best ways to improve their lives we need to take care to do the same for ourselves.  Here is what I practice to stay "sane" amidst the daily chaos and complexity of retail.

  1. Each and every day I remind myself that I love what I do...earning my living doing something that is good for people and the planet.

  2. I take time to get outside everyday and walk for at least 30 minutes.  Exercise and fresh air, good for our customers good for us!

  3. Sitting in peace 10-15 minutes every day strengthens me.

  4. Make sure that your family has some part in your business so they know and appreciate what you do.

  5. Repeat #1!
