It goes by many names. Methylhexaneamine. 1,3-Dimethylamylamine. 1,3-Dimethylpentylamine. 4-methylhexan 2-amine. Forthane. Floradrene. Geranimine. Sunrise. Hummer. Geranium extract, plant, oil, parts, stem and leaf. Banned from sports by the World Anti-Doping Agency, this stimulant ingredient is popular in  preworkout and weight loss supplements, and has generated controversy in the last few years for its checkered safety profile. Since the DMAA in sports products is most certainly synthetic, though it can purportedly be derived from geranium, it has become a lynchpin in the supplement industry's New Dietary Ingredient struggle with FDA.
