A step toward establishing omega-3 DRIs for heart health

The scientific community just got one step closer to establishing DRIs for omega-3s. A new research review published in the Journal of Nutrition stated that evidence clearly supported establishing a DRI for the omega-3s eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) to reduce coronary heart disease risk. The authors' recommendation: 250-500 mg per day.
