No Promise for Pet Promise

If your pet – like Oliver - is a fan of Pet Promise, you’ll have to start looking for an alternative. As of January 29, 2010 Pet Promise dog and cat food will be discontinued. Founded in 2005, Pet Promise has been known for delivering quality pet food – free of antibiotics and artificial growth hormones. As a company with a mission to support family farms, as well as the humane treatment of animals, Pet Promise helped owners care for their pets as a most treasured family member. According to a company spokesperson -- in response to my query about the dissolution of my dog’s favored food, "Pet Promise will continue to produce and ship product through this time. As of now it appears the brand will be in nearly all current retailers through this summer, with pet stores no longer having product late summer and most natural stores stocking through early 2010." So even though we have a year-or-s o to figure it out, the bottom line is there’s no promise in Pet Promise’s future and it’s time to start transitioning our furry ones to new food.
